Estyn Llaw Eisteddfod 2014

Living Room Cardiff launched it's Welsh language Reaching Out training manual at the National Eisteddfod in Llanelli today, Saturday 2nd August. A copy of the this unique resource, the first of its kind in the Welsh language, was presented to Gwerfyl Pierce Jones, chair of the Pantyfedwen Foundation the project's main sponsor.


Wynford Ellis Owen, CEO Living Room Cardiff, chaired the event and the speakers were, Revd Denzil I John and Dr Dai Lloyd, Directors Living Room Cardiff; Carol Hardy, Reaching Out co- ordinator; Bryan James, who edited the manual; Revds. Guto Llewelyn, Peter Cutts, Alun Lenny, Aled Edwards and Dr Gwyn Roberts.

The Reaching Out project aims to up-skill clergy and church leaders in how to better deal with those encountering difficulties with alcohol, drugs and other harmful behaviours.

The English language version of the Reaching Out manual was launched at the Welsh Assembly two months ago.

Lansiwyd llawlyfr Estyn Llaw Stafell Fyw Caerdydd heddiw, Sadwrn 2ail Awst, yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yn Llanelli. Cyflwynwyd copi o'r adnodd pwysig hwn, y cyntaf o'i fath yn yr iaith Gymraeg, i Gwerfyl Pierce Jones, cadeirydd Ymddiriedolaeth Pantyfedwen, prif noddwr y prosiect.

Cadeiriwyd y digwyddiad gan Wynford Ellis Owen, Prif Weithredwr Stafell Fyw Caerdydd; a'r siaradwyr oedd y Parch Denzil I John a Dr Dai Lloyd, Cyfarwyddwyr Stafell Fyw Caerdydd; Carol Hardy, Cydlynydd Estyn Llaw; Bryan James, olygodd y llawlyfr; y Parchedigion Guto Llewelyn, Peter Cutts, Alun Lenny, Aled Edwards, a'r Dr Gwyn Roberts.

Mae'r prosiect yn rhoi'r sgiliau i weinidogion ac arweinwyr eglwysi yn sut i helpu pobl sy'n wynebu problemau gydag alcohol, cyffuriau ac ymddygiadau niweidiol eraill.
